EV Charging Cost Calculator

Estimate the electricity cost of charging your EV using your battery size, charge level and energy price.

Enter the price you pay per kWh. This simple estimate excludes charging losses, standing charges, session fees, parking and time-of-use tariff changes.

How charging cost is calculated

Energy required = usable battery size × (target battery percentage − current battery percentage) ÷ 100. Estimated cost = energy required × your electricity price per kWh.

Example

A 60 kWh usable battery charged from 20% to 80% needs an estimated 36 kWh. At £0.25 per kWh, that is about £9 before charging losses or extra fees.
